GARDINER - Joani (Farquhar) Bishop of Gardiner, Maine passed away peacefully on July 16, 2021, after a brief illness.
Joani was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 29, 1952, to J. Douglas and Barbara (Melta) Farquhar.
She was raised in South Bend, Indiana where she graduated from Clay High School in 1971. In 1973, Joani graduated from Colby Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.
She spent most of her life on Long Island, New York where she raised her children. Joani married the love of her life, Chuck Bishop, in 2003 and they moved to their dream home in Gardiner, Maine to live life the way it should be.
Joani had a great smile and contagious laugh, enjoyed listening to music (especially the Beach Boys), and was an avid gardener. She loved the water and life on the Cobbossecontee Stream.
She is predeceased by her husband of 17 years, Chuck Bishop.
She is survived by her son James Craig and his wife Dawn Brannigan Craig (Waterloo, ON), daughter Laura Craig Cloud and husband Mike Cloud (Palmyra, NJ), daughter Emily Craig and partner Daniel Roche (Warwick, RI), Stepson Brian Bishop and wife Nicole Bishop (Centereach, NY), and Stepdaughter Kim Bonin (Franklin, VA), as well as her grandchildren Avery, Ollie and Celie. She is also survived by her siblings Jay (Joan) Farquhar, Betsy (Glen) Heath and Rob (Callie) Farquhar, and many nieces and nephews.
Joani was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
At her request, there will be no funeral service; instead, her children ask that her friends and family celebrate her life in a way that is meaningful to them.
