RANDOLPH – Joseph Richard Bourgoin, 85, of Randolph, Maine, formerly of Waterbury, Ct., died Friday, February 28th, 2020 at the Togus Springs VA Hospice surrounded by his family.
He was born in Stockholm, Maine on March 6, 1934, the son of Willie and Regina (Lavoie) Bourgoin.
He was born in a small town in Maine, he grew up during very hard times, but as soon as he reached the age of enlistment, he joined the Army where he served during the Korean War. After sustaining injuries, he was discharged and then he became a carpenter shortly after. He was an avid music man, he played guitar in bands throughout the years, playing music like folk and country rock. He was a pivotal force in most people's lives that he knew. A person who knew how to have fun, he was a real stern guy but was full of love and life. He fought very hard the last few years and was surrounded by many people who loved and took care of him.
He was predeceased by his parents; three sisters Doris Bouchard, Delores Thorn, and Joan Gagnon; and his son Gerald (Jerry) Richard Bourgoin
Joseph is survived by his partner of 46 years Sharon Alberto of Randolph; his sister Jennette Page of Limestone, ME and his brother Armond Bouchard of Ellington,CT; his Grandsons, Jeremy Ricard Bourgoin and Timothy Bourgoin; his granddaughter Misty Bourgoin of Waterbury, CT; his great granddaughters Mia Hernandez and Aurora Bourgoin and his great grandson Cerberus Bourgoin.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 10:00 am, at the Chapel at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine.
