Gardiner- Joseph Richard Graves, 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Gardiner, Maine.

Joseph was born on February 2, 1968, in Augusta, Maine, to Gregory Graves and Mary Wood Graves.

Throughout his childhood, Joseph attended schools in Maine, Massachusetts, Florida, and Maryland. He focused on technology and electronics fields in which he excelled.

Music was another passion that he was deeply connected to that began at a young age and was a source of joy and expression. Rush, Van Halen and Red Clay Strays were amongst his favorites.

Joseph was predeceased by his grandparents, Maxine Graves Rogers and Richard Graves; and Doris and Louisville Wood; and by his stepfather, Peter Labbe.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary Labbe Bunton (Robert) and his father, Gregory Graves (Susan); his daughter, Aja Quintal; his siblings; Elizabeth St John (Michael); James Graves (Misha); Erin Labbe Joyce (Kevin); Sean Putnam Labbe. He also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that will miss him deeply.

The family will hold a private service in Vassalboro, Maine to celebrate Joseph’s life and his memory. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Staples Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME.
