Pittston- Juanita Rachael Tillotson McKenney, 78, died on June 21,2024 at her home with her loving husband by her side.
Juanita was born in Gardiner, Maine on February 26, 1946 the daughter of the late Richard D. and Alice I. (Beckwith) Tillotson. She attended local schools and graduated from Gardiner Area High School.
On February 13, 1988, Juanita married the love of her life George William "Bill" McKenney in Pittston, Maine where they continued to make their home.
During her working career, Juanita, worked for the State of Maine DHHS in several different departments, retiring in 1999.
In her spare time she enjoyed taking her poodle to hospitals and nursing homes through the "Love on a Leash", she taught many people how to paint and weave baskets from her home, she enjoyed attending ceramic classes with her daughter and friends, and rock hunting with her husband Bill. For many years, Juanita and Bill participated in the Pittston Historical Society and enjoyed dressing up for the Pittston Fair every year. She also held a lifetime membership at Curves. We're going to miss Memere's fun, quirky conversations sitting on her porch with her coffee and smokes.
Juanita was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Merry Glidden; brothers, Norman Myshrall, Carlton Tillotson and Michael Tillotson. She is survived by her husband, George W. "Bill" McKenney of Pittston; a daughter, Cheryl and her husband Jim Patrick of Gardiner; a son, Bob and his wife, Trish Merry of GA; grandchildren, Michael Patrick and his wife, Kelly of Augusta, Richard Patrick of CA, Connor Merry of GA, Amanda Merry Meigs and her husband Ray of NC, Morgan Merry of CO, Ryan Glidden and his wife Barbara of Jefferson, and Renee McLaughlin of Augusta; great grandchildren, Natalie, Samantha, Kaden, Sadie, Noah, Thomas and Collier; two brothers, Daniel and his wife Sylvia Myshrall of Pittston and Richard and his wife Ann Tillotson of Kennebunk.
