GARDINER- June C. Perkins, 88, of Gardiner died Tuesday, October 17th at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. June was born June 27, 1935 in Whitefield the daughter of Percy and Myra (Newell) Cunningham. She grew up in Whitefield and Damariscotta. She worked for the telephone company in Damariscotta for several years and later worked for New England Telephone & Telegraph for over 20 years until her retirement in 1977. June was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crafts. She was predeceased by her brother Percy and sister Myra. June is survived by her husband Norman B. Perkins III of Gardiner; son Darrell Spears and his wife DeeDee of Jefferson; half brother Charles Cunningham of Augusta; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. June received her Lord and Savior in 1992 and he has carried her through and she is now at home. June attended Lighhouse Baptist Church, Maple Street, Farmingdale where a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
