RICHMOND - Karlene R. Croxford, 73, of Richmond, Maine a wonderful woman known for her kindness and love, departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, MaineHealth – Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born on April 25, 1953, in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of Arthur and Marie (Berry) Morris.
Karlene lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to her family and a gentle spirit that touched all who knew her. Karlene's journey began in Lewiston, where she developed the caring nature that would define her. After graduating from Monmouth Academy, she dedicated herself to building a loving home as a homemaker. Her most profound role was as a devoted mother, providing attentive and compassionate care for her son, who has autism. This selfless commitment was the cornerstone of her life, creating a nurturing environment filled with love and understanding.
Her marriage to Clark S. Croxford was a partnership built on deep affection and shared dreams. Together, they created a family that was central to Karlene's world. She cherished simple moments, often found reading thrilling murder mystery books or captivated by a suspenseful mystery show. She loved listening to The Beatles, which she loved bonding over with her granddaughter. Karlene's life was a quiet testament to the power of consistent love and care. She approached every aspect of her life with a caring, thoughtful, and attentive heart. She had a special fondness for family traditions, particularly the joyous occasions centered around feasts, creating cherished memories that will be held dear.
Karlene is survived by her loving husband, Clark S. Croxford, two sons, Scott M. Croxford and Steven S. Croxford, and her granddaughter Kyra L. Croxford
She is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Marie Morris,
Karlene’s legacy is one of profound love, selfless dedication, and a gentle presence that will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
At her request there will be no services.
