WATERBORO - Laurette J. (Cote) Rankin-O'Brien, 93, of Farmingdale, died Sunday, April 7th, 2024, at her daughter's home in Waterboro, with loved ones by her side. Born in Augusta, Maine, on March 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Arsene and Cecile (Bell) Cote; and graduated from St. Augustine School. Mrs. O'Brien was employed at Margaret Smith Factory as a seamstress for many years, then went to work at NRF Distributors where she retired from in 1992. Laurette was a member of the Sacred Heart church Ladies Guild, and Cushnoc Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband Roland Rankin, Sr.; daughter Donna Rossignol; son Roland "Butch" Rankin, Jr; two sisters Arlene Pomerleau and Joan Harrington; two brothers Roger and Raymond Cote. Laurette is survived by her daughter Linda Drouin and husband Steve, of Waterboro; two brothers Joe Cote, of Florida and Donald Cote, of Sidney; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; numerous nephews and nieces. At Laurette's request a memorial service and burial will be held for the family only on Thursday, May 9th, at 11 a.m., at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, with a burial to follow.
