Obituary

1935 - 2022 Gardiner-Lorraine Lavallee, 87, of Gardiner passed away on Sunday, December 11,2022. She was born in Augusta on August 7, 1935. A mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister; she will be sadly missed by family and friends. Her grandchildren called her Mémère and friends called her Frenchy. She loved camping, being around family and picking on her grandchildren. She was a hard worker. Lorraine worked at Skehans Dairy, Edward's Cotton Mill, a Nursing Home, and a Boarding Home. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca and husband Faughn, Jr. of Pittston, and Geraldine Hunt of Gardiner: three sons, Edward Hunt of Randolph, Dominic and wife Kathy Hunt of Augusta, Philip and wife Rose Hunt of Norridgewock and a sister Gloria Campbellton of Augusta. She has 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Dominique and Marie Anne Sirois, two brothers, Romeo and wife Joan Sirois, Roger Sirois and one sister Rita Beaudoin and husband Raymond Beaudoin. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Avenue in Gardiner on December 20, 2022. There will be a Spring burial at St. Augustine Cemetery in Augusta with a celebration of life to follow. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
