GARDINER - Louise Ann Hall-Gagne, a woman known for her gentle yet stern demeanor, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026.

Born on June 11, 1950, in Keene, New Hampshire, Louise lived a life marked by dedication and quiet strength. Louise graduated from high school and embarked on a career as a receptionist in the healthcare industry. She dedicated many years to the Maine Veterans Home, where her steadfast presence provided a welcoming point of contact until her retirement.

Her professional life was characterized by reliability and a commitment to serving others. Those who knew Louise will remember her for her dual nature; she possessed a deep gentleness, coupled with a firm resolve. This combination allowed her to navigate life with grace and conviction.

Beyond her professional life, Louise found joy in her passions. She had a keen interest in collecting rocks, gems, and minerals, a hobby that spoke to her appreciation for the Earth's natural beauty. As a devoted fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, she followed her favorite sports teams with enthusiasm.

She was predeceased by her parents Chester Hall; and Dorothy Majors.

Louise is survived by her loving husband, Dennis A. Gagne, Sr; daughter Tenly Hoffman, of Australia; three stepchildren, Jennifer Webb, Dennis Gagne, Jr. and Jeff Gagne; two grandchildren Adrian and Ryan; four step grandchildren Michael and Imogen Webb, Zachary and Haley Gagne; two step great grandchild, Zaylen and Clara.

Her familial bonds were a source of great comfort and happiness throughout her life.

At her request there will be no services.

Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
