It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Margaret Mercado, a woman of grace, strength, humor and boundless love. Margaret peacefully passed away with family by her side at Maine Veterans Home in Augusta ME, at the age of 88. Margie's life was a testament to devotion, resilience, and everlasting affection for her family and friends.
Margie was a doting wife, loving mother to her three children, supportive aunt, a treasured grandmother to her four grandchildren, and an adoring great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she made sure to fill every memory with laughter, love and delicious food.
Margaret's love for life was matched only by her commitment to those she cared for. Whether it was through deep conversation over coffee and pastries or making your favorite meal. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Her grandchildren, in particular, held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs. She passed on not only traditions but also the values of kindness, resilience, and faith that will continue to guide her family.
Margaret's legacy will be cherished by her family, her friends, and all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit will remain a source of inspiration and love for us all.
The excellent care that our Gram received is something that we will never forget. Sending love and gratitude to the crew on Freedom Bay Bravo. You were all so special to her.
Rest in peace, Gram Margaret 'Margie' Mercado. You will be sorely missed, yet your love will remain in our hearts.
At Margaret's request, because she wouldn't want to be fussed over, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, take the time and enjoy a meal with your loved ones. If you are able to donate, please consider making a Memorial Donation to Maine Veterans' Home, 460 Civic Center Drive, Augusta, ME 04330.
