AUGUSTA – Marion E. Spiro, 87, of Augusta died on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. She was the daughter of Ernest and Blanche (Bilevich) LeVasseur, born in Augusta, Maine on September 19, 1936. Marion attended local schools and graduated from Cony High in 1955. While attending school and after graduation she worked at the First National Grocery Store. On October 20, 1956, she married Paul W. Spiro, and was married 57 years. They were blessed with three lovely daughters Lynn, Linda, and Bonnie. Marion was a homemaker while the girls were growing up, once the girls were grown, she went to work for Manson & Church Pharmacy for 20 years. Marion had many happy memories of the family and many longtime friends, and she loved to sew, knit, bake, play a great game of cribbage and rummikub, coloring, puzzles and working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed her time with her family and friends socializing, shopping or just being there for each other. She was a great mother, grandmother, wife and friend". Marion is survived by her three daughters; a brother Ernest LeVasseur, Jr; six grandchildren Angela, Stacey, Ian, Alex, Bianca, and Dylan, and several great grandchildren. Marion's graveside service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
