GARDINER, MAINE- Mark E, Smith was found deceased after a wellness check at his home in Gardiner. He was born on Sept. 24, 1961. He was 59 years old.
Mark graduated from Messalonskee High School in Oakland in 1979. He worked for W.S.Pillsbury & Son, VIP & Motor Supply in Waterville and Augusta as a part specialist his entire career. He truly loved helping customers and the interaction with people every day. He was liked by all who met him. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and his sharp wit.
Mark is survived by his two children, Nicole Smith of Waterville, Maine and Chris Smith of Skowhegan, Maine; a sister Sharon Webb and husband Tom, of Richmond, Maine and their children, Jeffrey Carter and family of Oakland, Maine and Matthew Carter and family of Freeport, Maine; two brothers Robert and wife Ruth and son, Tommy of Marshville, North Carolina and Terry Smith of San Francisco, California. Mark is also survived by a huge family of many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind a special and close friend, Diane Cummings.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Hilda Smith and a loving Uncle and Aunt who raised him, Edward and Bernadette Goff.
The family invites all who would like to celebrate his life for a graveside service at the Coombs Mills on the Leighton Road in Augusta on Friday, May 7th at 10 AM. We request that everyone wear a mask and especially would appreciate everyone
