Obituary

PITTSTON - Marylove Jane Tracy, (Auntie, Aunt Auntie, Little Auntie, LA) 72, of Pittston went home to be with her lord on Monday January 20th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary was born at her home in South Gardiner on June 13th, 1952, to Hobart and Hazel (Waterhouse) Tracy. Early in her life, she helped care for her family, including many nieces and nephews. She also worked as the South Gardiner/Riverview School cafeteria worker where she touched so many young hearts. Marylove was member of the South Gardiner Baptist Church, where she spent many years sharing her love for God by teaching the young kids at Sunday school. In her free time, she enjoyed doing Crosswords, Sudoku, Wordsearch, knitting, puzzles, baking, sewing, reading and watching her Hallmark Channel all while drinking her hot cup of tea. She epically loved family gatherings and celebrating holidays with family and friends. Marylove is predeceased by her mother and father Hobart and Hazel Tracy. She is survived by her brother, Gerald Bailey and wife Claudia of Pittston. Along with her five nieces, Belinda Hinkley and husband Lee, Suzanne Bisson, Jennifer Dearborn and husband Dean, Alison Nichols and husband Norm, and Samantha Bailey. She leaves several great-nieces/nephews Caitlyn, Parker and Garrett Hinkley, Paige Williams, Cody (Melinda) McCutcheon, Brandon (Isabella) McCutcheon, Peter Williamson, Jillian Bisson, Kristen (Jake) Pray, Kami Collins (and family), Kassidy Collins, Taryn and Ben Nichols, Elijah, Finley and Violet Burns. As well as great-great nieces and nephews Maddy, Evan, Noah, Aden, Meah, and Lorelei. The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation to the nurses, CNAs and doctors at Maine General Medical center as well as Augusta Rehab. Thank you for taking care of our Auntie. At Mary's request, there will be no public services; her life will be celebrated by everyone that knew and loved her every time she is remembered. The burial will be in the spring in Mount Hope Cemetery in South Gardiner. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society in her memory. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, ME.
