Farmingdale-Maxine E Kincaid passed away on the morning of Wednesday Sept 19 peacefully in her sleep after a long heroic battle with a long illness .She was born June 22 1942 in Boothbay Me to Rupert and Ursula Downing .The 3rd of 5 children she attended local schools and soon after started her family.She raised 5 of her own children 2 step-children and helped with 2 teenage stepdaughders.She worked as a cook at several boarding homes in the Augusta area and was head cook at Hillside Terrace in Hallowell Me for many years up to her retirement in 2010. She liked to socialize and dine out with family and friends and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by children William Sr and wife Donna Downing,Russell Downing,Kimberly Kincaid and partner Gardner Stover and son Percy Kincaid step-children Sandra Duquette,Georgia Flannery,Kendal Kincaid and Andy Kincaid.Sisters Marilyn Goode and Hope Dunning and her husband John.Grandchildren .Amy Peaslee,Sonya Blackstone, Jeffery Kincaid Jr,Brian Downing,William Downing Jr,Jasmine Jackson,Tegan and Kanoa Bishop and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren also several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her mother and father her husband Alex Kincaid son Jeffery Kincaid Sr sister Cynthia Blackman brother Preston Downing and sister- in-law Nancy Downing. There will be a graveside service at Libby Hill Cemetery on Libby Hill Rd in Gardiner Saturday Sept 29 at 2:30 PM
