PITTSTON - Michael Nelson Carter, fondly known as Mike, was born on May 11, 1963, in Augusta, Maine, he peacefully departed from this life after a brief medical issue with his loved ones by his side on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland at the age of 63. A longtime resident of Pittston, Maine, Michael was known for his love for nature and his quiet yet fulfilling life in the countryside. His dedication to his work as a custodian in the public schools was commendable, and he found his peace tending to his yard, mowing his lawn, and nurturing his garden.

In his earlier years, Michael was an avid hunter. His love for the thrill of the chase was only matched by his passion for racing, whether it was going to Wiscasset Speedway or watching NASCAR on TV. A staunch fan of the New England Patriots, he cherished the moments spent cheering on his favorite team. Michael had a deep affection for rock music, often seen lost in the melodies that he loved. His dog was his constant companion, and their rides together were a source of great joy for him. What mattered most to Michael were his beloved pets, the peace and tranquility of his country life, and his family.

Michael was the cherished son of the late Kenneth and Charlotte Carter.

He is survived by his loving sister, Karen McGuire.

His memory will be kept alive by those who knew and loved him.
