South Gardiner-Mildred E Gay, 94, of South Gardiner passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday November 6th with her family at her side. She was born in Gardiner on July 23, 1918 the daughter of Charles and Maude (McNutt) Trott.She was a graduate of Gardiner High School class of 1934 and went to work as a hairdresser soon after graduating. She married Lloyd Spiller who passed away in 1952. She then met and married Warren Gay. They have been married for 59 years.She had been employed at Bath iron Works where she met her husband Warren. After marriage she raised her family. She went to work at Associated Grocers in South Gardiner and then Reny's Department Store in Gardiner.She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Walter and Roger Trott and a sister Marion AlexanderShe is survived by her husband Warren of South Gardiner, her daughter Sandra Cunningham and husband Dwayne of Gardiner and Florida, three sons Thomas Gay of South Gardiner, Ronald Gay and wife Kathryn of Gardiner and David Gay and his wife Charlene of South Gardiner, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Memorial service will be held at the South Gardiner Congregational Church on Riverview Drive Saturday November 10th at 2pm.
