LITCHFIELD, MAINE- Nanette Cohoon, 93, of Litchfield, Maine and formally of Lansing, MI., died Tuesday April 20, 2021 at home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.
She was born in Lansing, MI., on September 10, 1927, the daughter of John and Pearl (Odle) Duncan.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION HERE: (likes, hobbies, employment, etc.)Nan was a long time Lansing area resident who was raised with her sister, Evelyn, by their father John Duncan. She graduated from Everett High School and attended Lansing Business University. She worked for years as an Executive Secretary for Lansing Area Community Services and prior to that for the Waverly School system and Michigan state University. Nan had a passion for writing and painting. She authored poems and short stories in addition to her autobiography. Her paintings of landscapes, still life and portraits of friends and pets are cherished. She enjoyed music, garage sales, casino trips with her friends, and time spent with her beloved great grandchildren.She will be remembered and honored for her independent spirit, her sense of humor, and her loving commitment to family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter Jo Lynette, and her sister Evelyn.
Nanette is survived by three sons, John Cohoon and wife Debi, of Venice, Florida, Gerry "Kim" Cohoon and wife Sheila of Grand Ledge, Michigan, and Craig Patterson and partner Karen, of Litchfield, Maine. Grandchildren, Dustin Wells and wife Heather, Gerry Cohoon and wife Ashley, Onalee Barlow and husband Andrew, Angie Bedain, Blake Robertson, and Corey Mason.
The Family will hold a private ceremony in Michigan in May.
