AUGUSTA- Nathan C. Croxford, 47, departed this world unexpectedly on July 8th, 2024, from complications with diabetes, which he fought valiantly since the age of 11.
He was born March 22, 1977, to Sharon Croxford (deceased 2018) and Craig Croxford, growing up in Whitefield, playing in the woods behind his home and swimming in the river nearby.
Nathan tragically left behind his beloved son Ashton C. Danforth-Croxford, fiancé Amy Danforth, father Craig Croxford of Augusta, sister Angela Hight of Lyman, niece Sara Munro, her husband Nate Munro, their son Mossy Munro of Waldoboro, and niece Anna Olive of Gray, as well as many cousins, uncles and aunts.
Nathan often reflected fondly on his childhood memories and experiences. Nathan's favorite memories to reminisce about were of the times he spent with his family at Lake Pemaquid campgrounds. He'd describe the smell of the campfires, the sounds of the loons, swimming and biking around the campgrounds with so much happiness in his voice and a sparkle in his eye. Nathan did everything in his power to ensure our son experienced the same joy, and made memories, he did as a child. Nathan was such an incredible and amazing daddy to our son; he was so proud of his "little monkey man". He described Ashton as the light of his life; and he made sure to show him every day how loved and cherished he was by his daddy.
Nathan will always be remembered as a man who had a big heart, a charming personality and the most beautiful smile. He was a devoted and loving father and fiancé, who worked hard to provide for his family. He was a son who looked up to his dad and tried to live by his father's wisdom every day. He was a brother who adored his big sister and valued her opinion. He was an uncle who was proud of his nieces for following their dreams. Nathan will forever live on in our hearts and always be remembered for the light he brought to our lives.
Thank you for being you, and for being a blessing in so many lives. We love you, Nathan, and I know you will always be by our side, watching over us. You are our Sunshine.
A celebration of life for family and close friends will take place, the date has yet to be determined. It will be announced as soon as we can
