Obituary

North Berwick- Pamela McLean Paquin passed away on September 13, 2024 after a long struggle with life. Pamela was born in Hartland, Maine on September 1, 1948, the daughter of the late Verne and Mary (Bragg) McLean. Pam, as she likes to be called, was an excellent student at MCI. She played basketball for four years, was in the Latin Club for four years, on the Talisman Staff for two years and Exchange Editor one year, plus involved in Humanities Colloquium for two years. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Maine in Orono in honor studies and graduated with a degree in Education and later she earned a master's degree in education. Upon graduation she met her husband Ronald Paquin, and they married in Pittsfield, Maine. Pam and Ron moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Pam worked for Hancock Insurance Company prior to the birth of their daughter Paige Lynn. Shortly after Paige was born, they returned to Maine. Pam was employed as a teacher in Augusta at Farrington Elementary School and then at Hussey Middle School. She was a teacher in the Augusta school system for approximately20 years. She was deeply involved in the teacher's union acting as union representatives, then as treasurer, and finally as President. Pam decided to expand her career experiences and became a principal at Jay Elementary School, then she accepted a position at Hartland Junior High School & Elementary School and finally as principal in Wiscasset Middle School. After retiring from Wiscasset Pam experienced her first episode of cancer. Upon recovery she for for G.M. Pollard & Sons Jewelry Store as a salesperson, then for Sebasco Harbor Resort as concierge, plus two summers managing the refreshment area with Ron at a local campground and beach and finally as postmaster for Sebasco Estate Post Office for five years. Pam was also a Connect Credit Union board member for several years. Pam enjoyed her flower garden, watching birds, doing crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, boating, and fishing on the ocean. Pam and Ron traveled extensively within the United State while living in Wisconsin and Texas and on their own. Unfortunately, Pam experienced several strokes resulting in her being placed in a nursing home. Pam leaves behind her husband, Ron; her daughter, Paige; three grandsons, Jonathan, Sean and Oliver; a sister, Michelle Huff. At the family's request all services will be private.
