Obituary

Farmingdale, Maine - Paul Brian Richardson, 85, of 172 Northern Avenue, Farmingdale, and Wildwood, Florida, died at the hospice center at the Togus VA on May 4, 2017. He was born in Gardiner on September 16, 1931, the eldest son of Vernon L. Richardson and Myrtle Additon Richardson. Brian (as everyone knew him) attended Gardiner schools and was a graduate of Gardiner High Schools class of 1949. He served in the USAF from 1951 to 1955, attending schools in Fort Belvor, Virginia and Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Brian was predeceased by his parents and a brother Vernon Jr. (Jack) Richardson. He is survived by a sister Joyce and husband John Phelps of Sidney and nephews Jim, Jeff and niece Jean and their families, a brother David and his wife Patricia of Farmingdale and Venice, Florida and their daughter Denise and son Dana, his daughter Sandra and husband Roland Leach and their children Lynne and Jason of Farmingdale and a daughter Julie and husband Jeffrey and their two children Brooke and Nicholas of Augusta. He is also survived by his long-time friend and companion Jean Harris of Farmingdale and her two children Michael and wife Danielle Harris and their two children Erica and Thomas Brochu of Lewiston, Cheryl and her husband Andrew Moderski of Salem, New Hampshire and their daughter Sahra Hashi of New Hampshire. At his request there will be no visitation or funeral services. After cremation interment with military honors will be Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 2 pm in the Maine Avenue Cemetery in Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Togus Spring Hospice Unit or to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
