Private First Class Lawrence G. Gowell II LITCHFIELD -- Lawrence G. Larry Gowell, 22, of Litchfield died unexpectedly July 18, 2009, at home with his family.He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 17, 1986, the son of Lawrence and Lisa (Hall) Gowell, of Litchfield.He was a graduate of Oak Hill HIgh School, class of 2004.He was currently in the Army. He did one tour in Iraq, for which he received a number of medals and pins for his service.Larry married Crystal Kenney, of Lewiston, on Dec. 27, 2006. Together, they had two children, Domonic, 2, and Naomi, 1.He was a devoted husband and loving father. His greatest joy in his life was his family and spending as much time with them as he was able. He also loved spending time with his friends and playing video games.He is survived by his loving wife, Crystal; his beautiful children, Domonic and Naomi; his dad and mum; his sister, Amanda and her husband, Adam Butler, and nephew Cody; grandparents Clarence and Alma Gowell, and Lawrence and Bernita Hall; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.Visiting hours will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21. Committal services with military honors will follow in the family lot in Litchfield Plains Cemetery.
