Obituary

Litchfield- Raynol Porter, 65, Passed away at his home on September 19, 2023. Raynol was born in Gardiner, Maine on April 16th, 1958. The Son of Francis "Bing" Porter and Virginia (Danforth) Porter. He was raised in Litchfield, Maine and graduated from Monmouth Academy. At a young age he started working in construction with his father, Bing. Raynol went on to work with Canty Construction and MainEx as a Heavy Equipment Operator and dump truck driver. He also owned and operated Porter's Garage, where he was the main mechanic. Raynol loved riding his Harley Davidson. There are many fond memories of Harley rides, boat rides, target practicing and riding ATVs. He enjoyed going for morning coffee, exploring places he had been as a kid as well as talking on the phone for long periods of time. He along with his beloved German shorthaired pointer Beau, was the Vice President for NAVHDA- North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association. Raynol loved all dogs and all dogs he met instantly loved him as well. He was often referred to as the dog whisperer. He had an infectious smile that would light up any room. He was a very loving, funny man and always there when you needed him especially if you had a question that had to do with a motor. He was one to always lend an ear, he would say, "I don't know everything, and I may not be right" then proceed to give you, his opinion. Raynol was an amazing man and will be deeply missed by his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Francis "Bing" and Virginia Porter, daughter Michele Porter, brother Jeffrey Porter and granddaughter Shannon Lanteigne. Raynol is survived by son Jason Porter, daughter Mandy and husband Ryan Sanborn, grandsons Kaden and Ryken King, daughter Jennifer Lanteigne with husband Chris Ericson, grandson John Lanteigne, sister Tammy Porter, niece Brittany DeGuisto and nephew Jeremy Porter. A celebration of Raynol's life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements ae entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care.
