Obituary

Rebecca Mae Heath PITTSTON -- Rebecca Mae Heath, 28, passed away at home with family by her side September 20, 2021 after a two year fight against cancer. She was born October 25, 1992 in Augusta Maine, the daughter of David & Pamela (McKenna) Heath. She grew up in Gardiner and lived in Pittston most of her life. She graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 2011. While in high school she attended Capital Area Technical Center's culinary program. She then attended Stratford Career Institute where she completed a course in early childhood education and was working on one in business management. She worked at McDonalds in Gardiner since she was 16 and hoped to open her own daycare or bakery. She loved to cook/bake and enjoyed trying new recipes. She also enjoyed country music, horror movies, and spending time with family, friends and her cat, Easy. She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents (Elwin and Lizabelle Heath), her maternal grandparents (Harold and Joyce McKenna), and three uncles (Richard Crocker, Roger Austin and Denis Dandeneau). She is survived by her parents David and Pamela Heath of Pittston. Her sister Michele Heath and fiance Zachary Vadnais of Pittston and his two children Sophia and Gracelyn. She is also survived by her uncle Harold McKenna and wife Leslie of Windsor, aunt Brenda Crocker of Winthrop, uncle Corey McKenna of Chelsea, aunt Charil Mairs and husband Pete of Pittston, aunt Dona Austin of Winslow and uncle Stephen Heath of Pittston, as well as many cousins. A celebration of life is being planned for October 24, 2021 from 1pm-5pm at the American Legion on Rt 17 in Augusta, Maine. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, Maine General Health, Office of Philanthropy, PO Box 828, Waterville, ME 04903. Arrangements are by Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the funeral home website familyfirstfuneralhomes.com
