Robert Dana Ambrose, age 63, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 19, 2018, after a brief illness. He passed peacefully at CCMC in Lewiston surrounded by his family and friends. Dana was born on June 23, 1954, in Beverly, Mass. to Robert and Myrna (Clark) Ambrose. He was a 1973 graduate of Lynnfield High School. On December 6, 1975 he married Jean. He was proud of his four years of service in the U.S. Navy as a 1st class diver. Dana worked at BIW for 38 years as an electrician. He truly enjoyed researching his family's genealogy, sailing the coast of Maine and playing cribbage. His family was cheering for him when graduated from UMA with a bachelor's degree in financial services. He had worked very hard for that degree over several years. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jean Dunbar Ambrose; two sons David, and his partner Sarah and Ivan, and his wife Melissa, all of Pittston; his mother Myrna of Massachusetts; four brothers Jeff and his wife Marie of North Carolina, Shawn[ra1] and his wife Julie of Massachusetts, Greg of New Hampshire, and Lance and his wife Mariann of Virginia; his beloved grandchildren Morrighan, Kaleb, Emmet, and Ada along with Sarah's son Brandon; and lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins across this country. Dana was preceded in death by his oldest son Jeremiah Ambrose and his father Bob Ambrose. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5 Hasson St. in Farmingdale, with Bishop Steve Dowdy officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Coss Hill Cemetery on the Old Cedar Grove Road in Pittston.
