Obituary

Chelsea- Robert Field, 68, passed away on Friday August 28, 2026, at his residence in Chelsea Maine surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was born on November 18, 1957, in Dexter Maine. He was raised in Weeks Mills by his parents, Joyce Cowing and Duane Cowing. He was a graduate of Erskine Academy, Class of 1977.

Robert, also known by many as Guppy, was known for his hard work ethic starting work at 9 years old and working till April 2026. He was a very generous man, who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who was in need. His devotion to his family was admirable. He was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Grandfather and Brother. A wonderful man that had many titles. He was also a great friend to many. He had a very kind and caring heart that always shined through him. He also had great love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Duane and Joyce Cowing; his siblings Darlene Lane, Doug Cowing, and Donald Field; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Erline and John Hendsbee. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pamela Field; children, Stephen (Wife Tammy) Field and Ryan (Jenni) Field; granddaughters, Cheyann and Evangeline Field; grandson, Joshua Bragg; siblings, Flo Hoover and Dennis Field; brother in laws, David Hendsbee and Jim Lane; sister in law, Rhonda Quinn; his special friends, Jack Smith, Frank Monroe, and Dean Brann.  He is survived by many other friends and family. He was a beloved man, loved by many.

Gup will always be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

At Robert’s request, there will be no services or gatherings. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Staples Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, ME.
