1938 - 2022 CHELSEA - Robert E. Moody, 84, of Chelsea, Maine, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care at Glenridge, in Augusta. He was born in Gardiner, Maine on February 17, 1938, the son of Francis and Mary Moody. Robert attended Randolph and Gardiner Schools, and graduated in 1958. He worked various jobs which included construction and shoe shops, retiring in 1999 from the Etonic Shoe in Richmond, Maine, where he worked for 21 years. Robert was very active outside working in his gardens, doing yard work, and feeding the birds. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Fred, Kenneth, and William Moody, and a grandson Robert "Bubba" Moody. Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara (Mills) Moody of Chelsea; two children, Doreen French, of Randolph, Robert J. Moody and wife Jaime, of Chelsea; stepdaughter, Pam Rideout and husband Wayne, of Randolph; two grandchildren, Trevor Moody, of Chelsea, and Deborah Willett, of South China, and several nieces and nephews. A committal service will be celebrated at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery and a celebration of Robert's life will be held at a later date.
