Obituary

Rodney Eugene Markham Sr, son of Ina Mae and Raymond Markham Sr, DOB 11/01/1935. He was born in Chelsea, Maine the youngest of twelve children of Raymond and Ina Mae Markham. He retired from Wadleigh's/Keneco Fuel Company of Hallowell in 1995, as the service Manger of the heating and underground tank department. He was a Charter Member of the West Gardiner Rod and Gun Club, and one of the original founders. He also is one of the original founders of the Cobbosseecontee Snowmobile Club of West Gardiner.He was a lifetime volunteer Member of the West Gardiner Fire Dept. since 1961. He taught Hunter Safety for 15 years at the West Gardiner Rod and Gun club. He was a Past Member of the Litchfield Lions Club and was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, loved playing horseshoes and working in his wordworking shop Rodney served in the 30th. Inventory National GuardHe was pre deceased by his siblings including Norman of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Harold of Augusta, Maine, Merle of Litchfield, Maine , Richard, Las Cruses, New Mexico, Raymond Jr. of Chelsea, Maine. hyllis Mansir of Augusta, Maine, Marion Cleveland, of Indiana, And by his first wife, of 39 years, Freda (Dow) Markham predeceased him in 1994, He is survived by his wife Gloria (Breton) Markham of West Gardiner, three sons, Rodney Markham Jr. and wife Helen of West Gardiner, Leland Markham and wife Diane of West Gardiner, his youngest son Jeffrey Markham and wife Anne Marie of Tucson Arizona ,step daughter, Stephanie (Brann) Boynton and husband Harry Jr. of Monmouth, step Son, Ronald Brann and wife Jessica of New Gloucester, his brother, William (Bob) Markham of Farmingdale Maine, two sisters Cora Pushard and husband Fred of Gardiner, Maine and Ina Mae of Gardiner Maine and many Grandchildren and Great grandchildren include Angela and Josh Dyer of West Gardiner, and children Alexis and Jacob, Lacy and Josh Markham of Vienna, and children Bode and Bailey, Kimberly White of Oakland and son Gavin, Leland Markham II of Augusta, Maine and son CaydenLauren Markham of Oakland and sons Hunter and TrapperJasmine and Prentice DellVeneri of Tucson, AzMarcquess Houston and Bradlee Boynton of Monmouth, MaineCody and Morgan Brann of New Gloucester, MaineMathew and Shelley Jutras of Tucson, Az and son JeffreyNikki and Ron Carrigan of Tucson, Az. And children Sierra and OwenHe will be greatly missed by his pekingnese companions Brandy and Susie, And reunited with his best friends Buffy and Tucker. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday September 21st from 4 to 7pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave. Gardiner where a funeral service will be held Wednesday Sept 22nd at 11am.
