WEST GARDINER – Roland Everett Pushard, Jr., 89, of West Gardiner, Maine, died Friday, October 1, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Augusta, Maine on August 21, 1932, the son of Roland Everett and Barbara Ave (Witherell) Pushard. Roland grew up in Augusta and attended school in the Augusta school district. He served in the Air Force and the Army. He worked and retired from the VA, Togus. After retirement Roland enjoyed traveling. He and Beverly spent time in Florida and drove down and back from Maine many times a year. He loved horse racing and going to the casino. Going out to breakfast was something he loved to do. He also enjoyed watching the birds from his front window. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Roland was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Donald and his sister Katherine. Roland is survived by his partner of 22 years, Beverly Lamoreau. His sons, Roland III and Dale, his daughters, Dorothy and Alvena and Beverly's children, Julie, Earl, Susan, and Leonard. He is also missed by thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 8th from 10 am to noon, followed by a noon funeral service at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner; burial will follow at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Litchfield.
