Pittston, ME - Roxanna Mary Pushard, 80 of Pittston, passed away peacefully at her home on September 20, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 10, 1941, in Gardiner, Maine to Harold W. & H. Emma (Ellis) Dyer.
On July 1, 1967, she married her love, Donald H. Pushard Sr. They were married for over 54 years. Together they raised one son and two daughters.
She attended Farmingdale schools and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1959. After graduation, she went to work at Health-Tex. Once her family began to grow, she decided to change her career path. Not only were her children blessed to have her as their loving Mom, but the neighborhood children were blessed with a doting babysitter. She cared for these children for several years always having hugs, homemade cookies or brownies waiting for them. She knew that once her kids were older, for her to watch them play in their sporting events, she would need to have a job with more flexibility so McDonald's it was.
Roxanna enjoyed many things in life. Spending time with her family hunting, fishing, camping, sitting by a campfire, day trips to the ocean, an occasional day at the casino, adventures with her grandchildren and family gatherings to name a few, but nothing brought her greater joy or touched her heart more than being a "Mom", "Granny", "Grammy" & "Meme Roxy" to her children and grandchildren. You would always find her at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events offering encouragement, praise, and an occasional remark to the officials. She was their #1 supporter.
Roxanna was predeceased by her parents, sister Elsie Dyer, brother Harold Dyer, sister-in-law Angie Dyer, father-in-law Donald Pushard, son-in-law Andrew Cooper, nephew Jonathan Phillips & God son Scott Ellis.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald H Pushard, and three children, who were so very fortunate to have her as their mother: Donald (Buddy) Pushard Jr his wife Tracy, Emma her husband Thomas Quirion, and Angie Cooper her fiancé David Franks and five grandchildren who absolutely adored her: Owen and Leah Pushard, Tyler and Lauren Quirion and Wyatt Cooper and one great granddaughter, Kylie Veilleux. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was one in a million. The love she had for her family and the love her family had for her was unconditional. Always and forever. She will be truly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 4th, from 11 am – 1 pm at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, and burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Pittston.
