Hallowell-Ruth Jane Giroux passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 73.
Her life began in the year 1951 where her father served in WWII as an army soldier, with a mother who was less than motherly. They had a family Dry Cleaning business during the early years of her life in downtown Hallowell. As a teen she was always encouraged as a young adult, to desire the higher education of a college degree. In her early twenties, finding work wherever she could, as well as being employed for a while at the Old Cotton Mill Factory in downtown Augusta. Ruth was happily married in her early twenties to her mid-twenties, having never to have ever married again. Having spent most of her adult life as the very first tenant of Littlefield Street in Augusta, ME.
Ruth is best remembered for the way she always gave and gave all she ever had to her three children, unconditionally. Through true love, her ability to make a home full of wonderful spirit, always giving 100%, and always "mama" to the rescue. Helpful and never failing to give, she always went above and beyond what was expected of her.
To her three children, Jim Giroux, Tasha Lewis and Collin Giroux, she was our friend and companion throughout our lives. Always there and never gone, the best mother a child could have, always to the rescue. Standing as the only protector we ever knew, being the best, because she was all we ever needed. She was, is and always will be our mother. She made our lives full, and filled with all the love a mother can give her children. Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween are the holidays we will always remember her.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, Maine. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared with her family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website www.StaplesFuneralHome.com
