Obituary

AUGUSTA – Scott Joseph Hall, 67, of Augusta, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was born in Gardiner, Maine on December 18, 1953, the son of Robert J. Hall and Maureen (Sally) Canavan Hall. Scott grew up in Manchester and attended Winthrop High School. As a flooring contractor, he was the owner of Scott J. Hall Floor Covering Installations and was known for his extremely meticulous work. He was proud of the flooring he installed in many fine homes and businesses throughout the New England area. Scott had a great passion golf and started working at the Augusta Country Club as a young teenager. Anyone who knew Scott, knows he loved to tell a good story. Scott had a love for the ocean and spent many summers on his beloved boat, Amber Moon off the coast of Maine. He loved antique cars and won awards at numerous car shows in his favorite 1966 red Covair that could always be seen at the ACC after he played a round of golf and spent the early evening hours fishing golf balls out of the pond. He was predeceased by his mother, Maureen (Sally) Canavan Hall, his father Robert J. Hall, stepmother Marie DeShon Hall, and his brother Shaun M. Hall. He is survived by his loving life partner Julie Banta of Readfield and siblings Steven Hall of Augusta, Stacia Hall of Winslow, Stephanie Hall of Augusta, Sarah Plante and spouse Tony, Jason Hall and spouse Rex Tychan, and Kate Taylor and spouse Donald (Bud) all of Readfield. He was also a proud uncle to his nephews and numerous nieces, great nieces, great nephews, and a reliable, lifelong friend to many. A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Monday, June 28th from 4-7 pm at the Augusta Country Club, 19 Hammonds Grove, Manchester, Maine. Scott had a love for cats, donations may be made in his memory to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society 10 Pethaven Ln Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
