WINTHROP - Shelly Lee Hodgkins, affectionately known as "Shel-shok" to her friends and family, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on October 8, 1972, in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Maurice Hodgkins Jr. and Donna Swan. Despite never marrying, Shelly prioritized family above all else, especially her cherished son, Thomas.

Shelly devoted many years to her work as a clerk in the retail industry but found her true joy in the company of others. Her love for hard rock music was legendary, often setting the backdrop to the social gatherings. Shelly's presence at family events will be sorely missed; her laughter and warmth will forever be remembered by those lucky enough to have been a part of her life. Shelly was not just a woman of many passions but also of deep devotion, most notably to her son, Thomas. The bond they shared was nothing short of extraordinary, a testament to Shelly's capacity for love and dedication.

Shelly is survived by her son Thomas Beckwith, brothers, Michael Hodgkins (Lori), Eric Swan (Sam) sisters Laurie Hodgkins Lowe, Tina Gowell, Julie Hodgkins and long-term partner Scott Gerald, and many cousins’ aunt’s uncle’s nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice Hodgkins Jr. and Donna Swan. Her Brother Kevin Hodgkins, her family and friends will remember Shelly as an exceptional woman whose spiher and love for life were truly infectious. She will forever be remembered for her energetic personality and her deep love for her family,
