1965 – 2023 WEST GARDINER – Sherry Lynn Paul, 58, of West Gardiner, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, December 14th, 2023. She was born in Gardiner, Maine on February 1, 1965, the daughter of Donald Paul and Norma (Maloy) Layne. Sherry is a graduate from the University of Maine Orono, with a bachelor's degree. After graduating she worked for many years as a tax auditor for the state of Maine. Later in life she worked for MaineGeneral in Augusta, ME until her passing. Sherry was a very outgoing person who loved to travel, camp, and hang out with friends. Her favorite hobby was being apart of the Maine Jimmy buffet Parrot Head Club which she used to be the president of for many years. Sherry was one the kindest people around and she was always willing to help no matter how busy she may be herself. She was predeceased by Her maternal grandparents Russell Maloy and Elizabeth McDonald, paternal grandparents Andrew Paul and Mary Bridget (Morris) Paul, stepfather Clinton Layne. Sherry is survived by her Parents Norma Layne, of Gardiner, ME, and Donald Paul (Jo-Anne) Sipekne'katik, NS.; her siblings Cathy Paul, Kendra Paul, Arianna Paul, all of Sipekne'katik, NS.; step siblings Tracey Sylliboy, and Dawn Sylliboy, of Millbrook, NS, Bernadette Sylliboy (Vernon) of NB, Rhonda Hawkins (Tom), of Florida, and Timothy Layne (Laurie) of Randolph, ME; a special niece Michaela Julian and many other nieces and nephews. Sherry's visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, from 4-8pm, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 11:00am, at Christ Episcopal Church, Dresden Avenue, Gardiner.
