Stephen Jeffrey Lancaster, born on the 18th of September, 1972 in Bath, Maine, and resident of Kennebunk, Maine, completed his earthly journey on the 4th of June, 2025. An individual of extraordinary resilience and spirit, Stephen's life was a testament to the strength of the human character. Despite the challenges he faced, he exhibited a tenacity and zest for life that left an indelible impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In the words of Helen Keller, "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it," a quote that aptly embodies Stephen's life.
Stephen, although not employed, was far from idle. His disability, rather than being a hindrance, was a catalyst for his incredible empathy and understanding. He possessed an uncanny ability to connect with people, a gift that he used to bring comfort and solace to those around him. His patience was unparalleled, his courage unmatched, and his spirit unbroken. Stephen was the embodiment of the phrase, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain."
Stephen is survived by his loving mother, Carol Eilat. In the words of Mark Twain, "It is not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." And Stephen, with Carol by his side, proved this to be true time and again.
In remembrance of Stephen Lancaster and in celebration of a life well-lived, friends and loved ones are encouraged to share memories and upload photos to his memorial page. In doing so, we ensure that Stephen's spirit continues to inspire and that his legacy of courage and resilience lives on.
