Sylvia A. Scott (Sylvia Daniels) 1936 - 2023 LITCHFIELD - Sylvia Scott, of Litchfield, passed away on Nov. 15 at St. Mary's D'Youville Pavilion, in Lewiston. She was 86. Sylvia was born in Augusta on November 25, 1936, to parents Ernest B. and Violet E. Scott. Following her graduation from Pierre S. DuPont High School in Wilmington, Delaware, Sylvia attended Memorial Hospital Nursing School, where she earned her nursing certification. Sylvia soon settled in Gardiner and began a long career as a Registered Nurse at Augusta General Hospital. She retired from nursing in the mid-1990s. Throughout the years, Sylvia loved spending the summers at her camp on Sand Pond, in Litchfield. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. A longtime member of the St. Andrews Society, Sylvia had a profound interest in her Scottish heritage, and always made it to the Maine Highland Games. For many years, she was a member of the congregation of the East Pittston Methodist Church. Sylvia is survived by her sister, Judith Scott Bebout, of Rockland, a daughter, two sons, 3 grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 pm, Monday, November 20, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, in Gardiner, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 1:00 pm.
