FARMINGDALE -- On Aug. 29, 1963, in Saginaw, Mich., a son was born to the union of William Houston and Alma Cooper Houston. They named him Terrance Brion. He was one of three children. Terrance was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Wayne.Terrance passed away on Aug. 9, 2009, in Farmingdale.Terrance served as a sergeant in the Army from 1982 to 1992. Early in his military career, a sergeant he highly admired told him that, when he stopped having fun, then he should get out. He did just that. He was a chemical operations specialist when he was discharged.Terrance loved bowling and golf and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed the fun of the rivalry with all the Red Sox fans here in Maine.Terrance was a member of Kennebec Community Church in Augusta and was employed as a manager at TD Bank in Lewiston.Left to cherish his precious memories are Davina (Marston) Houston, his wife and best friend; his six children, who will miss him more than words can say, Ashley Houston, 21, Brion Houston, 18, and Caleb Houston, 16, of St. Albans, Vt., Marcques Houston, 13, of Monmouth, and Dominiq Houston, 8, and Dakota Mitchell, 17, of Farmingdale; grandson Terrell Houston, 1, of St. Albans, Vt.; sister Deidrea (Faye) Carr; Justin (Tonya) Naranjo, a nephew he adored; niece Ashley Houston and great-nephew Tarvez Beebee of Alexandria, La.; three uncles, Sherman (Delores) Cooper, of Saginaw, Nemire (Mary) Cooper, of Chicago, and Earl (Mattie) Cooper, of Alexandria, La.; and a host of nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. A celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Kennebec Community Church, 6 Glenridge Drive, Augusta.
