GARDINER – Terry L. Berry, 69, of Gardiner, died Monday, June 24th, 2024, at the Alfond Center for Health after an unexpected but brief illness with his loved ones by his side. Born in the town of Waterville, Maine on April 17, 1955, Terry Berry, the son of Herbert and Shirley (Henderson) Berry, Terry had a passion for turning aspirations into reality. A graduate of Winthrop High School, Terry's early fascination with real estate blossomed into a successful career in property management and housing development. Not just a businessman, Terry was a pillar of his community, dedicating countless hours to its growth and prosperity. His interest in things that matter and openness to every person he met on his life's journey led him to become involved in numerous activities he personally enjoyed. In his later years, he served energetically on the Gardiner City Council. Terry's commitment to service resulted in his active participation with the BPOE Gardiner Elks Lodge, where he played a key role in organizing charitable events alongside other members, leaving a lasting impact on the local communities in and around Gardiner. He was an active member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Hallowell for several years in the early 2000s. He entered a deacon formation program as he felt called to serve those in need. Although he didn't become an ordained deacon he lived a life of service in his community. Terry was a frequent world traveler, having explored various countries across several continents. His eclectic interests included a love for antiques and collectibles, a passion for zipping around in his sporty little cars, tackling home improvement projects and taking care of his pets, especially Mortimer and Finley.
