Obituary

IN HONOR OF THOMAS C. MACMASTER, JR. CHELSEA - On October 17, 2023, a hand reached out to Thomas C. MacMaster, Jr., 54, of Chelsea, Maine and pulled him from his pain and anguish into the arms of Jesus and carried him to his home of eternal peace. He was born in Augusta, Maine on November 5, 1968, at the Augusta General Hospital. Though the nurses asked Jayne to wait until the doctor arrived, Tommy came into this world on his own schedule. This would remain Tommy's way, son Thomas C. MacMaster, Sr., of Richmond, Maine, and Jayne McCaslin Conley, of Pittston, Maine. He graduated from Gardiner Area High School and went on to be a handyman, always finding something to keep to him busy. Tom was an interesting man who could talk forever. He was an old soul and a hippie at heart, always the wanderer. His favorite subject was his deep love for God and his urgency to spread that love so none of his loved ones would be left behind. He attended Central Church and, for a time, worked with the youth in that church. He was so excited to have that opportunity and he loved those children with all his heart. That was one of the best times of his life. Besides his parents, he leaves a daughter, Shelby McGibney, his brothers, Jason T. MacMaster (Loni) of Gardiner, and Anthony T. MacMaster (Alyssa) of Randolph, his sister, Danyielle MacMaster Gillis, of Gardiner, nieces Sydnee MacMaster (Jared), Avrey MacMaster, Avonlea Lovely MacMaster, and Mikayla MacMaster, nephews Chase MacMaster, (Kimberly), Jahmiyo Gillis, and Addison Thomas MacMaster, as well as his great nephews, Oakley MacMaster, and Ryder Mckinney. He leaves behind his uncle Mark McCaslin, Aunt Carolyn McAuslin, stepmothers, Julianne MacMaster Maschino and MaryAnn MacMaster, and his many cousins. He leaves behind his dear friend and former wife, Sunday Sabien, a very special friend, Dylan O'Brien, besties Marco Peacenlove Rines, Steve Colby, and a host of dear friends who are too many in number to mention individually but know how very important each of you were to Tom. Tom was predeceased by his cousins Debra and Ricky McAuslin, his maternal grandparents, Lewis and Hazel McCaslin, his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Elizabeth MacMaster, and his best friend and soul mate, Stephanie Curless. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at 10:00 am, at the Gardiner Lions club, 25 Lions Street, Gardiner. Staples Funeral Home website. Arrangements are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website: www.familyfirstfuneralhomes.com.
