Timothy G.
Dupont
Jun 27, 1970 — Jul 9, 2026
WEST GARDINER – Timothy G. Dupont (formerly of South China) born June 27, 1970, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 9, 2026, at the age of 56. After several recent health struggles, he has gone to be with his beloved daughter Falecia.
Throughout his career, Tim worked as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic for Williams Construction, Ferraiolo Construction, Fleet Service and Clark’s Cars and Parts. Like his dad, he was known for being excellent at wrenching.
Tim enjoyed the simple things in life. He could often be seen riding around on his lawn mower even after the lawn was cut. He always said that mowing relaxed him and he loved the smell of the fresh cut grass and reporting on which neighbor or friend went by.
Other hobbies were taking trips up north to potato country, although he jokingly called it “batata country.” He would jump in his truck and head out on rides down back roads to nowhere in particular. Other days he would head to what he called “The Hanson Neighborhood.” He enjoyed trips to Wilson’s Camps, cooking on the grill and sitting by the fire with loved ones.
Tim spent many hours over the years enjoying visits with his best friend and chosen brother Kelly Buzzell. They could be heard in the garage or at the kitchen table sharing stories of days gone by. Most stories they had shared with each other before, but it didn’t matter, the laughter filled the room. They were making memories. Memories of the many pranks that coworkers played on each other at Williams Construction or stories of when Tim’s son was little and Tim tied the feet of his footy pajamas together and hung him upside down to hear his son’s giggles. He also shared stories of recent visits with his “grandbabies” as he called them, whom he enjoyed immensely.
The space that he carved in our hearts will forever be filled with his memory. We take comfort in knowing that he will be watching over us forever more.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother Elsie Ann Dupont, his father Gordon Dupont and his daughter Falecia Potter.
He is survived by his wife Paula Dupont, son Timothy Dupont, stepson Justin Smith, stepdaughter Crystal Clark, sister Melissa Green (Dan Green), son-in-law John Potter, “grandbabies” Autumn Potter and Lillyanna Potter, best friend and chosen brother Kelly Buzzell (Sue Buzzell) and several uncles, cousins and friends.
Details of a service will be shared at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Tim’s grandchildren. Checks can be made payable to: John Potter 96 Benner Lane Whitefield, Maine 04353. In the memo of the check please write “Tim’s Grandbabies.”
