1932 – 2021 WEST GARDINER - Vera L. Wentworth of West Gardiner passed away on March 12, 2021 after a short illness. Vera, a native of Junction City, Kansas met her husband John while he was serving in the Army at Ft. Riley. After a whirlwind romance, they married, travelled the world and ultimately settled in West Gardiner where they happily raised their three children, Kathy, Deborah (Suzie) and John II. Vera and John had a home full of love that was always open to all the neighborhood children for a good home cooked meal. Upon retirement Vera and John happily spent their summers at their camp in St. Albans. Vera always said that she lived a good long happy life and she will be missed by many. She was predeceased by her husband John of 57 years; her parents, and four sisters. Vera is survived by her three children, and their spouses; five grandchildren, and three grandchildren affectionately knew her as "The Graminator" while the other two affectionately knew her as "Gramster". We would like to extend a special thank you to the women that helped her, Carol, Cindy, Florence and her special friends Janie and Janet. Also, a special thank you to her daughter-in-law Raymone whom she considered another daughter. Fulfilling Vera's wishes, there will be no services.
