Augusta- Wayne A. Blanchard, 80, of Willow Street died peacefully on December 18, 2024, at the Alfond Center for Health, his loving family was by his side. Wayne was born on January 15, 1944, in Augusta, Maine the son of the late Linwood W. and Mary (Doe) Blanchard. In his early years, Wayne worked in the shoe shops in Augusta before beginning his career as a residential painter, a job that lasted more than twenty years before failing health forced him into early retirement. Wayne was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and James Blanchard. He is survived by two daughters, Karen and Michael Holt of Gardiner and Lisa Carter of Chelsea; four grandchildren, Kala & Tim Hinckley of Jefferson, Steven Trask of Auburn, Megan and Eric York of Portland, George Palmer of Chelsea; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Norman Blanchard of New Castle; a sister, Linda Bowie of Norway; several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME.
