HALLOWELL - Wayne N. Pare, affectionately known as "Wayne the pain" or "Bamp", passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at The Woodlands Senior Living of Hallowell. Born on June 2, 1939, in Gardiner, ME, Wayne spent the majority of his life in his hometown, graduating from Gardiner High School in 1957. He was a dedicated individual, known for his hard work, kind heart and jovial spirit, along with a determination to do things his way. A skilled plumber, he was an integral part of the local community.
Wayne was a man of many talents and interests. Before and after owning his own plumbing companies, Town and Country Plumbing and Heating and Wayne Pare Plumbing, he worked for several local plumbers, mastering the ins and outs of the trade. Despite his busy schedule, Wayne always found time to pursue his hobbies. A lover of nature, he built a camp on Moosehead Lake and enjoyed many trips there. He was an avid fisherman and camper, with a particular fondness for "moosing." A talented saxophone player, Wayne, played in several groups, filling the air with joyous melodies. Wayne especially enjoyed playing for the residents of area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Pare and Corrine Pare, his sister Gloria Jean, his former wives, Billie, Joan, and Wanda, son in law Lawrence Meader, and two grandsons.
He is survived by his loving family: Brother Grant Pare and wife Nancy, children Lorna Meader, Becky Thayer and husband Gene, Carol Minoty and husband Scott, Corey Pare, and Jonathan Pare and wife Michelle, 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, along with several nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his legacy.
